I started playing music in the 8th grade, on clarinet. After three years on clarinet, I realized how much I didn’t like being one of twenty in band. I didn’t feel important or even necessary, so I decided on switching to baritone horn. I spent a summer learning to play a new horn (much to the pain of my younger sister), and then a few years later started playing trombone in jazz band.
After graduating from U.C. Santa Cruz with a degree in Music, I’ve worked up my private teaching studio to about 20 students on average, along with teaching an after-school class at Gomes Elementary in Fremont. I also regularly play with the Newark Symphonic Winds and Lyric Theater, and fill in frequently with the Peninsula Symphony and Redwood Symphony.
